Birthday Giveaway Winner + Cats!

Cat Group Final 1c

Many thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday yesterday.  You truly made my day!

Thanks also to everyone who entered my cookbook giveaway.  The winner is #26 — because that’s the date of my birthday!  Congratulations to Patty Roker!

Patty: please email me with your mailing address and I’ll send you a copy of More Quick-Fix Vegan.

In her comment, Patty asked what I was cooking for my birthday dinner.  The answer is: NOTHING!

I never cook on my birthday! Instead, Jon and I drove to my favorite Thai restaurant for an amazing lunch.  While we were in “civilization”, we did some shopping.  On the way back home, we stopped at another Thai restaurant to pick up some take-out for dinner later on, making my double-Thai birthday extra-special!

Of course, the best part of my birthday (and every day, for that matter) is spending time with my wonderful cat-kids: Gary, Mitzki, Petey, and Jason.

Thanks again everyone for all your support and good wishes! xo

What adorable puss-cats! Love their names too. Three of them remind me of our lovely black and white boy called Panda who is sadly no longer with us….
Glad you had a lovely birthday xx

Happy birthday Robin! I love cats too! but we don’t have one at the moment! We have a golden retreiver who is our princess. She has been my best friend since I moved from London to be with my American military husband. As a foreign person (I am French) it is sometimes difficult to make friends especially when you live in Georgia where people are not used to meet a lot of Europeans! I would have been very lonely without our dog! At my parents house in the south of France we sometimes had more than 7 cats. My first cat was “Ponpon” a black & white male who spent the nights fighting with others cats in the neighborhoud. I am 53 and I still remember that when he died my dad dug a small grave in our backyard for him. I was watching from the kitchen window and I was crying. We lived not far from a road that went to the sea and every summer during the holiday season we found cats abandoned on the side of the road. We took them home and sometimes they just came in our backyard searching for food and confort. Some cats were in bad shape and we took care of them.
I have been wondering if I could feed our dog with vegan food for dogs, dogs are mainly carnivore aren’t they? although our dog Rainbow loves eating fruits and vegs raw or steamed. Are your cats vegan?
